Our 2nd Oklahoma Covenant Theology Conference Coming Soon!

Good news! Our church is officially hosting our 2nd Oklahoma Covenant Theology Conference. We have a date. We have meeting space reserved at the University of Oklahoma. And we have our keynote speaker lined up.

With the move to the SEC, we, as a church for Norman, we have “punted” on trying to navigate scheduling around the football season, so we decided to move our second conference from Fall 2024 to March 2025. So mark your calendar for March 8-9, 2025.

We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Derek W. H, Thomas as our keynote speaker this year!

Dr. Thomas, originally hails from Wales, currently serves as the Chancellor’s Professor of Systematic and Pastoral Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary. He is also a regular speaker for Ligonier ministries founded by R.C. Sproul. By God’s grace, Dr. Thomas has been faithfully pastoring and preaching for nearly 50 years.

Dr. Thomas was ordained in the Evangelical church of Ireland and served in Belfast for 17 years before God called him to the states to equip future ministers at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. He served with Dr. Ligon Duncan and preached regularly at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, MS as the “Sunday evening preacher.” Following his time in Jackson, he was called to assist Dr. Sinclair Ferguson at the historic First Presbyterian Church (ARP), Columbia, SC. Upon Dr. Ferguson’s retirement, Dr. Thomas served for twelve years as senior minister in Columbia while continuing to teach seminary courses for RTS.

Throughout his ministry, he has contributed to many exegetical, pastoral, and scholarly works and written over twenty books including many fine expository commentaries. See a partial listing here.

Dr. Thomas and his wife, Rosemary, have two grown children and two grandchildren, two dogs named Luther and Gracie-Spangles, and a somewhat dysfunctional cat named Chloe. He is passionate about classical music and opera.
