This Is God’s World, & The Church Is God’s Enduring Community

Click the photo to visit our church’s new youtube channel where we share stories of how God has been at work in our church. Trinity Presbyterian Church is our current representation of the enduring community.

In 2016, we were called to start a church where we lived, in Norman, Oklahoma. God called many others to join us, and in September of 2021, God began Trinity Presbyterian Church of Norman.

We began this work because we believe the church in America has confused the world. We believe the church has largely over-promised (health and wealth “gospel”), under-delivered (evangelical, dumbed-down “seeker” sensitive “worship” services), or become syncretized with the moralistic, therapeutic deism of the world and centrally concerned with the politics of this age (either progressive “Christianity” or modern fundamentalist “Christianity”). None of these are actually Christianity. Therefore, desiring to start a church that would be committed to the clarity which was birthed out of the Protestant Reformation, we have focused on scripture-filled worship and community, and have seen lives transformed.

What will we do at Trinity Presbyterian Church? We believe in doing all the things that God mandated for the church to do, and nothing else, until we have obeyed Him in those tasks. We will focus on ministering God’s word and sacraments and providing Godly discipline. We will pray prayers based on those in scripture, such as prayers of praise, confession, intercession, and thanks. We love the Bible and believe it is the only book we can study in which we truly meet and commune with God. According to God’s design for His glory and our flourishing, we will rest and worship our Lord each Sunday and then join in His kingdom work six days every week.

We believe that a lot of messaging the world gets from the church is muddled, confused, and overly concerned with justifying its own “brand” as it makes big promises to meet needs and do things that God has never called the church to do. If you’re reading this description, we hope that you understand: This is God’s world. We are either rebels against Him, or we are His worshippers. The good news is that you can be reconciled to God, forgiven of your sin, and declared righteous through faith in Jesus Christ who died and rose from the dead and currently calls men and women from all tribes, tongues, and nations to believe in Him alone for salvation. Repent, believe, and be baptized. Do not delay any longer. Apart from Jesus and His Bride, the church, you’ll live under fear of God’s wrath and judgment. The alternative is to hear the gospel, believe, and receive:

Justification– God justly declares all who come to Christ as righteous for the sake of His righteousness credited to us and the removal of the guilt of sin accomplished by Christ in the first century, This is God’s gift to us received by faith, not on account of our works.

Sanctification– the present lessening of the power of sin as the Holy Spirit wraps you into the life of Jesus. We suffer temptation, sin’s against us, our own sin, and the common miseries of this life. Yet we commit, by God’s grace and the empowering of the Holy Spirit, to live our lives putting sin to death and living to Christ until our death and/or Christ’s return.

and Glorification– the future hope of the complete elimination of the presence of sin when God establishes the new heaven and the new earth. We will finally be made whole, living in harmony with our Holy God.

We invite you to join and participate in the church- the only community you’ll ever join that will endure beyond your lifespan in this age and extend into the age to come. It’s the enduring community: the church.
